Student Learning Outcomes Assessment

Aac&u value rubrics, american association of colleges & universities, value rubrics.

Having a place to start makes the development of assessment instruments go much more smoothly than starting from scratch. Assessment, Survey, and Effectiveness Research

Aac&u value rubrics.

The VALUE initiative involved teams of faculty and other educational professionals from over 100 higher education institutions engaged over many months to develop 16 VALUE rubrics for the LEAP Essential Learning Outcomes. Drafts of each rubric were then tested by faculty with their own students’ work on over 100 college campuses. For more information about the AAC&U VALUE Rubrics, visit their website .

These rubrics can be used as is, or adapted for your needs, in your classes or your programs. UMass Amherst is currently using the Critical Thinking and Written communication rubrics as a part of our campus student learning assessment efforts.
