Greetings to everyone in attendance on this auspicious day. We are all gathered here to commemorate our nation's 72nd Republic Day today. It is my duty and honor to speak on republic day. Every year on January 26, India celebrates Republic Day, which is special in Indian history. Every year, we celebrate the national event with great joy, happiness, and pride in order to make it memorable.

As we all know, the Indian constitution took effect on January 26, 1950, and ever since, the Indian people have celebrated that day as our nation's Republic Day. Although India gained independence on August 15, 1947, there was no national constitution at the time. But after much deliberation and thought, a committee led by Dr BR Ambedkar presented a draught of the Indian constitution, which was adopted on November 26, 1949, and took effect on January 26, 1950.

I just want to share a few interesting facts about the Indian constitution quickly. Do you know that the Indian Constitution, which has 444 articles divided into 22 parts, 12 schedules, 118 amendments, and 146,385 words in its English-language version, is the longest written constitution of any sovereign state in the world? The Assembly received a draught constitution from the committee in November 1947, but it took more than two months to receive the finishing touches amid discussions and amendments. The process was finally finished on November 26, 1949, when the Constitution was approved by the Constituent Assembly. Prem Behari Narain Raizda was the calligrapher who created the work in the book. It was published by Dehra Dun, photolithographed at the Survey of India Offices, and illuminated by Nandalal Bose and other artists. It is still kept in helium-filled cases in the parliament building's library. Additionally, the Indian Constitution declares nine fundamental rights to be everyone's fundamental human rights.

I'd like to conclude by stating that India is a democratic nation. People who live in democracies have the opportunity to choose who will lead their nation. Even though there has been significant progress to date, there are still some issues that need to be addressed, such as pollution, poverty, unemployment, etc. One thing we can all do is make promises to one another that we will improve as people so that we can all help to solve these issues and improve our country. I'm grateful, Jai Hind.

Respected Principal, Teachers, and all my dear friends.

I'm here in front of you right now to speak on Republic Day. I'd like to wish everyone in attendance a happy republic day before continuing. When my class teacher informed me a few days ago that you have been chosen to give a speech on January 26th, I was absolutely astonished. I have never given a speech before in my school career, so I am both excited and a little nervous.

As you are all aware, we are gathered here today to celebrate Republic Day, also known as "Gantantra Divas," and as you are also aware, our complete constitution was ratified on this day in 1950. However, Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, who is well-known as the father of the Indian Constitution and one of the most influential figures in modern India at the time, presided over its adoption on November 26, 1949.

It should go without saying that our country's transformation into a republic nation was made possible by the efforts of all of our leaders at the time. The happiness of celebrating this day is completely incomprehensible. I feel incredibly proud to talk about our leaders, whose unwavering efforts laid the groundwork for our Republic Country. the individuals who fought against all odds to enact our nation's own constitution. The celebration of today serves as a reminder that we appreciate their work and will never forget it. On this special day, I also want to honor the courageous soldiers who have over the years defended our Republic Country against various threats.

As we start the celebration of this day, our hearts are overflowing with patriotism and pure love for our country. I just hope that in the years to come, this love for our country will only grow. We all continue to make contributions to our country's improvement and work together to address all of its issues. I just want to say that I am incredibly proud to be a citizen of our nation to wrap up my speech. I hope that everyone in our country continues to abide by the rules set forth in our constitution and preserves the integrity of this republican nation. Thank you!

What is the difference between Republic Day and Independence Day?

    Republic Day Long Speech Sample

Good Morning, on the auspicious occasion of Indian Republic Day, we have gathered here. India is commemorating its 74th Republic Day this year. I feel a great sense of pride and gratitude for everything our country has accomplished as we come together to celebrate the Republic Day of our country. On this day, we honour the struggles and sacrifices made by the people who fought for our country's independence and sovereignty.

The Indian Constitution, which took effect on this day in 1950, is evidence of the democratic, justice, libertarian, and egalitarian principles that have governed our country since its inception. It provides a framework for the government's transparent and accountable operation and ensures that certain fundamental rights are guaranteed to all of its citizens.

India has been hosting special guests every year as part of celebrations, including the head of state or the governments of other nations for the republic day celebration in the nation's capital. Since 1950, this has been a tradition for the celebration. For instance, on January 26, 2015, former US President Barack Obama attended Republic Day as a special guest. And for the 74th Republic Day celebration, Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi will be the special guest.

The President delivers a speech on Republic Day at 8 a.m., and then the flag-hoisting ceremony at the Rajpath in the nation's capital is followed by a parade. The Republic Day March is regarded as a striking feature of the celebration and it highlights Indian cultural and social heritage. Additionally, it displays India's defence capabilities. The Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force's nine to twelve different regiments march while wearing all of their official regalia. The salute is accepted by the Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Armed Forces, the President of India.

The heroes of our nation, the soldiers, are remembered on this prestigious occasion. Different Gallantry awards and recognitions are presented to the  Martyrs and heroes who dedicated their lives to protecting the motherland.

As we commemorate this day, let's not forget that there is still much to be done to uphold these ideals and guarantee that every citizen has access to healthcare, education, and a fair shot at success. Building a better future for everyone and fostering an equitable and prosperous society is our shared responsibility. Let's reaffirm our commitment to creating a powerful, thriving country that the rest of the world will respect and admire on Republic Day.

Happy Sunshine to all the dignitaries, chief guests,s and my dear fellow mates! Every year on January 26, India celebrates Republic Day with great fervor and pride. It marks the anniversary of the adoption of our constitution. We became a sovereign, secular, socialist, and democratic republic on January 26, 1950, nearly three years after gaining our independence.

On August 15, 1947, we declared our independence from British rule, but our nation was still without a written constitution. In addition, India lacked the specialists and political influence necessary to ensure the efficient operation of state affairs. Up until that point, the 1935 Government of India Act, which was more inclined toward colonial rule, had essentially been modified in order to govern. As a result, it was imperative to create a comprehensive constitution that would represent everything India stands for.

Additionally, this day also saw the start of the Indian Parliament's first session. Dr. Rajendra Prasad, India's first President, also took the oath of office on January 26. Because it signifies the end of British rule and the establishment of India as a Republic State, this day is crucial.

Every year on January 26, Indians celebrate with great fervor. Irrespective of sex, caste, religion, and other things whole nation comes together to celebrate this joyous day. It exemplifies how diverse our nation is in real life. India's capital city, New Delhi, observes the holiday with a Republic Day Parade that displays both the military might and cultural diversity of our nation.

These parades are held in numerous cities, and many schools participate in them. It is enjoyable to see the youngsters and experts work so hard. One can be proud of their country when one graces the parade. On this day, we hoist the national flag. The national anthem is played by the military band in New Delhi following a 21-gun salute after the President of India hoists the flag. It is a day to honor the spirit of freedom and support India's future ascent to greater heights.

    Republic Day Speech

Republic day and speech are two different words that have different meanings. Many nations celebrate their independence, constitution, and resolution days as republic days. Republic day is a national holiday day, and everyone enjoys it. The governments and private organisations hold ceremonies and conferences on this day. Special gatherings are also arranged at schools where students perform and do speeches. Basically, a speech on republic day is a republic day speech. Students express their views and thoughts on the topic. At the end of the ceremony, a special guest distributes awards among students. Thus, it’s a day to enjoy and cherish with friends and family.

Talking about speech on a republic day, it’s not something that every student can do. Behind a speech, there are many factors and things to consider. Today’s article by top dissertation proposal writing experts will describe all those things. Hence, a brief description is as follows.

How to Write Republic Day Speech

    Set objectives.

Setting objectives before doing anything is important. You want to perform a particular job, what’s your objective? When you are able to answer this question, the rest of things will become easy for you. A man earns and goes to work daily. What’s his purpose? His purpose is to earn for the betterment of his family. Therefore, everything starts with a definite objective or purpose. The same is the case with the republic day speech. The writer has to work on his objectives. It could be winning a prize, appreciation or anything.

The clarity is everything. A writer must be clear in his thoughts and objectives. Everything will become easy for him when he starts writing with crystal clear objectives in front. Therefore, having goals are crucial in winning the prize.

    Know your audience

The audience plays an important role when writing a speech. On republic day, you may expect a political figure as chief guest of the ceremony. Therefore, everything you write and speak there should be authentic based on facts. A speech tailored for the right audience brings much more appraisal than a fancy speech that has nothing for the audience. As you know, every field and day has its own language and wording. Republic day comes the under the subject of the history of a country. Therefore, the wording and language should be in line with the audience.

In a republic day speech, the audience will love to hear about the country’s history. How the country has gained its freedom and the number of sacrifices. The audience won’t be attracted if you open the pandora box of the politicians of that time and explain their lives. It is something irrelevant. Thus, you should come up with historical research problems and only discuss things that come under the day’s theme. The audience will be happy this way and will praise you.

    Tell a story

While writing, always try to tell a story. The audience of an event loves to hear a story based on reality and actual events. It actually keeps the audience stuck to you while speaking. Another beautiful addition can be theatrics or visuals. The visuals from Independence Day and other photographs can really raise the sentiment of your audience. With increased sentiment and attraction, you will surely win the prize.

Have you ever listened to TedTalks? The speakers there always practice this. They narrate the written story and ask their audience to imagine the scenarios. This speaking and imagining combination is very crucial in telling a story effectively. In a republic day speech, you can also add such things. Some camera visuals from the day of independence will really help you get the appraisal you are looking for.

    Don’t waste the opening

Some people just come on the stage and waste the opening time. They can’t gather their thoughts, or maybe they have not written their speeches before speaking. Writing can help you overcome many problems that you may encounter while speaking. Speaking is not an easy task, and speaking in front of the whole school can be nerve breaking. Therefore, you need to write your speech well before and practice it.

Many people who haven’t delivered a speech before face such troubles. They waste too much time on the opening of the speech. While they try to get comfortable, the audience suffers. A republic day speech is not something that will take much time. Thus, you need to write and practise the speech before the actual event.

    English mistakes

English is the international language adopted in all educational techniques . Most ceremonies around the world happen in the English language except in some countries like China, Russia etc. The representatives of these countries speak in their own languages. Well, the grammatical mistakes in a speech are not acceptable at all. In a republic day speech, when hundreds of students listen, a grammatical mistake can really make a difference. Therefore, it is important to take care of this.

The south Asian countries have their own languages. The students of these countries face a lot of trouble writing a speech in English. Thus, it is advisable to get your speech proofread by a friend or family member. It should not contain any tenses or grammatical errors.

    Strong closing

Like the start, the end of your republic day speech should also be outstanding. Try to end your speech with a message or a positive note. Most of the time, the audience of an event forgets everything and remembers the closing remarks. A weak closing means nothing delivered. In the end, everyone in the hall will forget your good speech. Try to make the audience emotional at the end. It is necessary because people never forget the emotional side of every story. You can also play a recap of the visuals again in the end.

Speeches are difficult to deliver and write, particularly a republic day speech. It requires a lot of hard work and dedication before its delivery. The start and closing must be the strongest ones. By following the above-mentioned tips, you will be able to develop a fine speech, for sure.

    Republic Day Speech in English

Good morning all. On the eve of our 73rd Republic Day, I would like to express my warm greetings to all of you. In 1950, we embarked on a journey as a republic nation on 26th January, affirming to practice and follow the principles laid down by our constitution. It emphasized democracy, secularity, equality and provided a framework for three organs-Legislative, judiciary, and executive.

We are now in the third decade of the twenty-first century, where the new generation witnesses the dawn of advanced discoveries and innovation. Every person is willingly participating in the national discourse and looking forward to the growth of the nation. The fundamentals laid down by the constitution strengthens our country, turning it into a robust democracy. By adhering to the rules and law, we are adding meaning to our celebration of independence.

On Republic day, President distributes civilian awards every year. These awards are given based on categories. Republic Day parade is organized by the military of defence in New Delhi. This show is the main attraction of the event and lasts for three days. It showcases India’s cultural and social heritage. Nine to Twelve different regiments of army, navy, and air force march past in all their finery and decorations.

The President unfurls the flag and addresses the nation with a motivational speech. Paramilitary forces and police forces also participate in the event. Furthermore, a tribute is paid to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for independence. In schools and colleges, students dress up in different traditional costumes representing each state and perform a dance, song, or a speech from the respective region.

Youth is the nation’s bright future; therefore, it is mandatory to act responsibly and preserve national heritage. India is our motherland, and hence it is necessary to work in its interest to make it shine. Everyone should possess the virtue of patriotism. By abiding by the rights and duties written in the constitution, one ensures harmony and peace in society. The spirit of brotherhood, fraternity, and support for each other should be paramount.

The famous saying that a pen is mightier than a sword is essential to fulfilling our core with non-violence and equal justice. The national holidays should not be taken for granted, but its significance needs to be promoted across states to create awareness and disseminate patriotism.

I want to conclude my speech by thanking everyone who honoured this program with their attendance. Lastly, I would like to quote Mahatma Gandhi, who rightly stated that be the change you wish to see. It implies that we must involve and bring change for a vibrant future and not just wait for the government to initiate.

    Happy Republic Day!

I am glad as I am chosen to present this speech and welcome everyone to this occasion. Today, India celebrates its 72nd Republic day. We all must know India celebrates Republic Day on 26 January as the Constitution of India came into existence on this day in 1950. This not only made us a republic but also made the people of India the highest authority in the country.

Our freedom fighters had struggled and sacrificed their lives so that the future of India is not under slavery. Freedom strugglers like Bhagat Singh, Mahatma Gandhi, Chandra Shekhar Azad, and many more must be remembered. We must pay tribute to them on today’s occasion.

India won Independence on August 15th, 1947. About 200 years of British rule came to an end on this day. Even after independence, India was facing Hindu-Muslim riots and corruption. It was the duty of each member of free India to return the country to its glory. After rigorous efforts, the constitution was finally implemented in a full-fledged manner on January 26, 1950. The credit for drafting the Indian constitution goes to B.R. Ambedkar. He was a member of the Constituent Drafting Committee who is considered the chief architect of the constitution of India. 26th January is celebrated as colourfully organized cultural events all over the country. Every citizen of India is filled with pride and happiness on the occasion. They play patriotic songs and enjoy sweet dishes to mark the celebrations.

India’s constitution is considered one of the best in the world. India is the largest democracy. However, India is still pulled back by crime, corruption, violence, terrorism, etc. After so many years of being a republic nation, India is still under the captivity of such nation-wide issues. As true citizens of the country, our responsibility is to work towards the development of the country and protect our land as true patriots!

Thank you for your patient hearing.

Republic Day is observed in India every year on January 26. India lived under British colonisation for hundreds of years. After many years of freedom struggle, India got its independence in 1947. Around two and half years later, India became a Democratic Republic. On January 26 1950, the Consitution of India came into effect. On this day, our motherland was declared a Sovereign, Secular, Socialistic, and Democratic Republic. It means the people of India have the power to choose the government for the country. To commemorate this grand event in the history of the country, this day is celebrated as Republic Day ever since. Our Constitution was written by a committee headed by Dr B.R. Ambedkar. In India, Republic Day is celebrated as a national festival. The biggest celebration happens in the capital city, New Delhi.

The President of India hoists the National Flag, and the Indian Armed Forces, including the Army, Navy and Airforce organise a parade. The celebrations include the flag hoising ceremony where the tri-colour is unfurled. The military band plays the National Anthem along with a 21 gun salute to honour the lives lost in the freedom struggle. People also pay their tributes to all the freedom fighters who became martyrs for the nation. Military Bands of all the regiments, NCC Cadets, and ex-army men also join the parade. Tableaus from all the states of India are displayed after the parade. It showcases India’s rich ‘Unity and Diversity’ culture. Folk dances and other performances are also exhibited by the participants and army personnel during the celebrations. The President of India addresses the nation on the eve of Republic Day, on January 25. Towards the end of the occasion, flower petals in saffron, white, and green are showered from helicopters in the sky, creating the image of the Indian National Flag! The celebration is broadcast on all the radio and television channels.

From 2022, the Republic Day festival starts on January 23 to honour Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose on his birth anniversary. Netaji was a prominent freedom fighter who fought for the independence of India and his role in our freedom struggle can’t be forgotten. During the Republic Day celebrations, civilian awards like Padma Vibhushan and Bharat Ratna are also announced by the President of India.
