Edmonton Writers' Group
Welcome to the Edmonton Writers' Group!
We are an informal group of aspiring and published writers dedicated towards helping each other reach our goal of becoming published.
We support each other by providing (in so much as we are able) encouragement, advice, constructive criticism with regard to storyline, plotting, characterization, and continuity. We respect all genres and styles of writing (fiction and non-fiction), sharing connections, assisting with publishing necessities such as query letters and general requirements.
In the current publishing world, we understand that as writers we must do the majority of the work ourselves and we embrace this by giving honest critiques mixed with gentle grace and lots of humour. We are a relaxed group who feel that taking minutes and holding strictly to rules of order is unnecessary in a mature environment as takes time away from the focus of writing and becoming published.

Events › Edmonton Writers Group Presents: World Building
Edmonton writers group presents: world building, description.
Virtually all fiction writing needs some sort of world building to allow the reader to make sense of what the author is trying to say. Some genres need very little (e.g., Historical Fiction), while others such as Science Fiction & Fantasy can need a lot depending on various factors. Presented by the Edmonton Writers Group .
